This past Sunday, December 22nd, the FCC sanctuary was filled with the sound of joyous voices and festive cheer as the Children’s Christmas Sing-A-Long brought together families and friends to celebrate the holiday season. Organized by the Luminous Partners – a collaboration between FCC, SH First Methodist, and SH Lutheran – the event was a true testament to the power of community and the spirit of the season.
Approximately 40-50 people of all ages joined in the festivities, making this sing-a-long a delightful and memorable gathering. From cherished classics to beloved carols, the group sang selections from around 20 Christmas songs, which resonated with both children and adults alike. To add to the meaningful experience, scripture readings were interwoven throughout the performance, guiding us through the timeless and familiar Christmas Story.
After the music concluded, attendees moved to Fellowship Hall, where the celebration continued. The hot chocolate bar, brimming with delicious toppings, and a variety of cookies were a hit among guests. Meanwhile, craft activities brought out everyone’s creative side, with options ranging from homemade playdough to ornament-making. The hall buzzed with laughter, conversation, and the joy of shared holiday traditions.
This event would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of many individuals. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Sarah Peterson for her incredible organizational skills, Diane and Lisa for their exceptional musical leadership, Pastor Dave for his guidance, and all the members and participants from the partnering churches who contributed their time and energy.
The Children’s Christmas Sing-A-Long was more than just a musical event; it was a beautiful reminder of the love, unity, and joy that define the holiday season. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this celebration such a success. We look forward to many more opportunities to come together as a community and spread light and cheer in the coming year.
Happy Holidays!
